Dale Burnett

Dale Burnett, age 79, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at his residence.

Per his wishes, his body will be cremated. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Dale was born on March 15, 1938 in Palava, Texas to Odis and Doris (Byrd) Burnett. He married Sheila Barnett on August 20, 1960 in Sweetwater, Texas. Dale was a member of 4th and Elm Church of Christ., and was also a longtime farmer and rancher. He received his PHD in Animal Science.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Burnett of Sweetwater, Texas, two sons, Brook Burnett of Sweetwater, Texas, Burt Burnett and wife Rebecca of Abilene, Texas, Grandsons, Shea Burnett, Jaxon Burnett and Jagger Burnett, granddaughter, Kirsten Burnett, sister-in-law, DeLane Morgan and husband Robert, and nephews, Curt Crisp and Blake Burnett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Carol Burnett.
