Elida (Soto) Franco

Elida Franco, age 82 , of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Walter Best officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M..

Elida was born on July 14, 1935 in Del Rio, Texas, to Feliciano and Petra (Balderas) Soto. She married Reyes Franco on January 3, 1953 in Sonora, Texas. She owned and operated a grocery store along with her husband for many years before retiring. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church where her husband preached for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Reyes Franco of Sweetwater, Texas; three daughters, Teresa Franco of Sweetwater, Texas, Rebecca Franco of Fort Worth, Texas, and Sylvia Osterloh and husband Jim of Washington State; two sons, Javier Franco of Sweetwater, Texas, and Rogelio Franco and wife Dianna of Terrell, Texas; four grandchildren, Noami Gonzales, Delmie Franco, James Osterloh and Sara Osterloh; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Elias Soto and wife Carmen of Sweetwater, Texas and Feliciano Soto, Jr. of Bay City, Texas; two sisters, Rosa Gutierrez and husband Pete of Sweetwater, Texas, and Antonia Garza of Sweetwater, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Feliciano and Petra Soto, three sisters, Juanita Quiroz, Eva Galindo and Irene De Leon; and three brothers, Margarito Soto, Pedro Soto, and Roberto Soto.

Pallbearers will be David Gutierrez, Ruben Gutierrez, Eli Franco, Joel Franco, Robert De Leon, and Robert Soto.
