Jose Garcia Adames

Jose Garcia Adames, age 75, of Sweetwater, Texas passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

As per his wishes, his body will be cremated. A rosary/ memorial service will be held 7:00 P.M., Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Jose was born to Aurelio and Maria Adames on November 28, 1941 in Sweetwater, Texas. He enlisted and served in the National Guard from 1958 to 1961. Jose met Estella Villarrial, they were childhood friends and later fell in love. They were married on August 4, 1961. They made their home in Sweetwater, Texas, where Jose lived all of his life. Jose and Estella later welcomed six children, Joe, Jr., Judy, Johnny, Ronnie, Michael and Chris. He worked for USG for thirty one years and retired in 2004. He enjoyed his retired life with his wife Estella visiting casinos, going on fishing trips, and going to drink coffee with his brothers. He enjoyed visits from his grandchildren, family and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of fifty six years, Estella Adames, his son, Joe Adames and wife Brenda of Snyder, Texas, daughter Judy Gray of Abilene, Texas, son, Johnny Adames of Sweetwater, Texas, son,Ronnie Adames and wife Belinda of Jacksonville, Florida, son, Michael Adames and wife Lisa of Sweetwater, Texas and son, Chris Adames of Sweetwater, Texas. Jose was blessed with eighteen grandchildren, Joanie, J.D., Stephen, Brittany, Ryan, Sonya, Jace, Carley, Janelle, Aaron, Jeremy, Brandon, Justin, Zach, Kendal, Amber, C J, and Felicia. He was later blessed with twenty great grandchildren with one on the way, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brothers, Aurelio Adames, Jr. and wife Lupe of Sweetwater, Texas,  Benny Adamez and wife Connie of Abilene, Texas, and  Ray Adames and wife Josie of Abilene, Texas, sisters,  Linda Sepeda and husband Ramaldo of Joshua, Texas,  Lupe Duran and husband Lupe of Abilene, Texas, and  sister-in-law, Petra Adames of Sweetwater, Texas.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Aurelio and Maria Adames, brother, Manuel, sister, Pina, grandson, Joshua and nephew, Ray Anthony.
