Robert Raul Espino Gutierrez

Robert Raul Espino Gutierrez, age 53, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Hendrick Hospice Care in Abilene, Texas.

A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by Domingo Castillo.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 6, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Parish with Deacon Bill Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Robert was born on June 9, 1964 in Sweetwater, Texas to Alfonso Gutierrez, Sr. and Ignasia (Espino) Gutierrez. He was a Catholic. He was a 1982 graduate of Sweetwater High School. He worked for TSTC in the maintenance department for many years and was also a caregiver and worked as a CNA at the local nursing homes.

He is survived by five sisters, Mary Ham, Esther Castillo and husband Domingo, Linda Medellin, Lupe Gutierrez, all of Sweetwater, Texas, and Gloria McFadin and husband Alan of Abilene, Texas, four brothers, Rumaldo Gutierrez, Pete Gutierrez and wife Rosa, Dolores "Lolly" Gutierrez and wife Mary, all of Sweetwater, Texas and George Gutierrez and wife Lisa of Andrews, Texas and numerous, cousins, nieces and nephews and his beloved chihuahua, Gracie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfonso and Ignasia "Nancy" Gutierrez, three brothers, Alfonso "Ponchie" Gutierrez, Jr. Arnulfo "Shooky" Gutierrez and Samuel "Sammy" Gutierrez, and one sister, Christina Salinas.

Pallbearers will be Ruben Gutierrez, Danny Gutierrez, Domingo Castillo, Jr., Alex Gonzales, Samuel Valdez, Jr., and Adam Gutierrez.

The family would like to thank Hendrick Hospice for their wonderful care of Robert.
