Carlotta S. (Salgado) Gomez

Carlotta S. Gomez, age 93, of Sweetwater, Texas passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at her residence.

A rosary will be held 6:30 PM, Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel. 

Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 11, 2018 at Holy Spirit Parish Catholic Church with Father Nilo Nalugon officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Carlotta was born on June 19, 1924 in Mexia, Texas to Marcial Salgado and Maria Josepha (Perez) Salgado . She married Margarito H. Gomez. She worked as a salesperson for Joe Liner's and Latria's for many years before retiring. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish Catholic Church and a member of Guadalupana Society. She was a longtime resident of Sweetwater, Texas. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by five daughters, Helen Ybarra and husband George of Universal City, Texas, Margaret Torres and husband Louis of Sweetwater, Texas; Dora Garcia and husband Edward of San Antonio, Texas; Mary Gutierrez and husband Dolores of Sweetwater, Texas; and Charlotte Rogers and husband Rolando of Sweetwater, Texas ; fifteen grandchildren , twenty nine great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Margarito H. Gomez, parents, Marcial and Maria Salgado, son, Ray S. Gomez, and two brothers, Frank Salgado and Ben Salgado.

Pallbearers will be Roland. Rogers, Reuben Rogers, Daniel Gutierrez, John Reyes, Larry Torres, and Ronnie Torres.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy P. Gomez, Ricky Heredia, Tony Heredia, Manuel Heredia, Gilbert Heredia, and Mario Heredia.
