Floyd Brannan Obituary

Floyd Brannan, age 80, of Lovington, New Mexico (Former resident of Sweetwater, Texas), passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held, 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ollie Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 6;00 - 7:30 PM.

Floyd was born on May 26, 1938 in Bakersfield, California to Almus B. and Ozelle (Rush) Brannan. He married Rosie Lee Sells on June 1, 1956 in Sweetwater, Texas. He was a member of Rhema Valley Church. He worked as an oilfield production supervisor for Union Pacific Resources before retiring. His first job in life was with Dee Rainey at T & R Construction in Sweetwater, Texas. His hobbies were fishing and cooking for everyone. He loved his family most of all. His family met no greater giver than him. He unselfishly gave.

He is survived by his wife, Rosie Lee Brannan of Lovington, New Mexico; two daughters, Janet Fisher and husband Randy of Lovington, New Mexico, and Tammy McClain and husband Shannon of Hobbs, New Mexico; six grandchildren, Scott Fisher and wife Carey, Shanessa Gluhm and husband Josh, Brandon Smith & wife Stephanie, Jennifer Hernandez and husband Erik, Whitney Hernandez & husband Cheeto, and Karlye Smith; thirteen great grandchildren; and three brothers, A.B. Brannan and wife Judy of Randalette, Oklahoma, D.B. Brannan and wife Chris of Columbus, Texas and Anthony Brannan and wife Jannie of Cambria Heights, New York.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Almus and Ozelle Brannan, two sisters, Carmen Taylor and Coletta Shannon.

Pallbearers will be Shane Baxter, Chad Baxter, Greg Reed, Drew Sells, Richard Perez, and Steve Smith.
