Johnny E. Hill

Johnny E. Hill, age 77, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at his residence.

Per his wishes, his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Dusty Lovell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Johnny was born on January 20, 1940 in Gatesville, Texas to Edgar Travis and Clara Lorain (Benton) Hill. He married Barbara Jean Tackett on December 22, 1961 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He owned and operated an oilfield service company for many years before retiring. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son, Steven J. Hill and wife Robin of Sweetwater, Texas, daughter, Louanna Hill Petrie of Dallas, Texas, four grandchildren, Casey Hill, Haley Hill, Amanda Petrie and Lindsay Petrie, two sisters, Jackie E. Stovall and husband Bobby, and Sally Meurer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Hill, parents, Edgar Travis & Clara Lorain Hill, and brother-in-law, Pat Meurer.
