Ricky Reed

Ricky Reed, age 64, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Hendrick Hospice Care in Abilene, Texas.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 7, 2019 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Alan Carson officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.

Ricky was born on April 29, 1955 in Sweetwater, Texas to Melvin Edward and Betty Sue (Foust) Reed. He worked for T.A. Truck Stop for many years. He was a Baptist. He married Patricia Jimenez on April 19, 1976 in Sweetwater, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Reed of Sweetwater, Texas; three sons, Ricky Reed and wife Erica of Edgewood, Texas; Cody Reed and wife Bekah of Midland, Texas, and Steven Reed and wife Amber of Midland, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia Luevano and husband Daniel, Joanna Stevens and husband Randal, and Lisa Griffith and husband Richard, all of Sweetwater, Texas and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Sue Rawlings, father, Melvin Edward Reed, and grandparents.

Pallbearers will be Mike Jimenez, Michael Bennett, Andy DeLaCruz, Dylan Jimenez, Gilbert Costillo, Terence Lopez, Toby Forbes, Neal Carpenter, and Brock Guevara.
