Alfred (Al) Moreno

Alfred (Al) Moreno, age 89, of Sweetwater, Texas, (Longtime resident of Denton, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Sterling Hills Rehab.

A prayer service will be held 6:30 P.M., Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a rosary at 7:00 P.M. recited by Deacon David Mendez.

Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held l0:00 A.M., Friday, August 21, 2026, at Holy Spirit Catholic Parish with Father Josh Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Alfred was born on January 13, 1937 in Abilene, Texas, to Albino and Modesta (Rincon) Moreno. He married Mary (Maria) Landeros on June 24, 1961 in Colorado City, Texas. He worked for Wolf Electric in Colorado City, Texasand then when he moved to Denton, Texas, he started working for Denton Co-op which later became CoServ in Denton, Texas. He was a devoted Catholic. Al was a member of Association of Vietnam Veterans of Americans Chapter 920 in Denton, Texas, and the Men's Auxiliary in Abilene, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (Maria) Moreno of Sweetwater, Texas; two sons, Tommy Moreno and wife Cherie of Valley View, Texas, and their children, Brennan Moreno, and Melanie Watson, and Robert Moreno and wife Elena of San Antonio, Texas, and their children, Pablo Sansores, and Paola Sansores; daughter, Belinda Greiner and husband Jeff and their son, Elliott Greiner; brother, David Moreno, and sister, Elena Moreno.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albino and Modesta Moreno, and brother Trinidad Moreno.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Moreno, Robert Moreno, Jason Reeves, Brennan Moreno, Pablo Sansores and Jeff Greiner.
