Andy G. (Andres) Cantu

Andy G. (Andres) Cantu, age 72, of Roscoe, Texas (Former resident of Petersburg, Texas) passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

Per his wishes, his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Andres was born on January 6, 1954 in Lubbock, Texas to Ambrosio and Bertha (Gonzales) Cantu. He married Ester Ramirez on June 12, 1975 in Lubbock, Texas. He was a Baptist. He worked for Excel as a meat packer for over 35 years. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Ester Cantu of Roscoe, Texas; daughter, Dolores Herrera and husband Edward of Roscoe, Texas; son, Andy Cantu, Jr. and wife Brandy of San Angelo, Texas; four grandchildren, Justin Herrera, Lauren Herrera, Jonathan Herrera, and Lincoln Herrera; sister, Olivia Hernandez of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Angel Cantu, sisters, Julia Navarro, Eulalia Martinez, Louisa Rodriguez and brothers, Amado Cantu and Richard Cantu.
