Anselmo (Heavy) Gamez, age 62, of Abilene , Texas (Former resident of Sweetwater,

Texas ) passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Hendrick Medical Center .

A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Monday, July 19, 2010 at Cate-Spencer & Trent

Funeral Home Chapel recited by Pauline Gauna and Connie Palacios.

Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00A.M., Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at

Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Udegbunam

officiating under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home

Anselmo was born April 21, 1948 in Sonora, Texas . He worked as an equipment

operator. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

He is survived by five sisters – Isabel Martinez, Margaret Gonzales, Elena Underwood,

all of Sweetwater , Texas and Hilaria G. Torres and Sally Pena, both of Houston , TX ;

five brothers – Enrique Gamez, Jose Gamez, Manuel Gamez, and David Gamez, all

of Sweetwater , Texas and Nick Gamez of Houston , Texas ; and numerous nieces and

nephews, including special niece – Mara Zuniga of Abilene , Texas .

He was preceded in death by his parents – Dionicio and Alejandra Gamez, (2)

brothers – Juan Gamez and Jimmy Gamez and one sister – Stella Torres.

Pallbearers will be Cornlio Mendez, Joe Gonzales, Ruben Underwood, Isidro Loya, Joe Meza, and Frank Lopez.
