Billy Howard Ivey, age 90, of Roscoe, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Sterling Hills Rehab surrounded by his family.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 6:00 P.M. - 7:30 P.M..
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Stacy Hyde officiating. Burial will follow at Roscoe Cemetery with the U.S. Naval Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Billy was born on August 3, 1935 in Abilene, Texas to Theodore H. and Dorothy Opal (Crawford) Ivey. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Strickland on December 29, 1957. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Arts, and taught school for one year. He followed his dream and moved to Roscoe, Texas in 1976 where he opened his business, Ivey Pump and Supply. For 50 years, his company has been servicing water, irrigation and solar wells, and constructing and maintaining windmills. He was a member of Roscoe First Baptist Church and also attended Champion Baptist Church. Billy was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather to many who affectionately called him "Pop".
He is survived by his son, Roger Ivey and wife Rhonda of Roscoe, Texas; daughter, Cyree Hyde and husband Duane of Nolan, Texas; grandchildren, Chrisi Warner and husband Kris, Heather Garrison and husband Grady, Hillary Miles and husband Britt, Clint Ivey and wife Clarissa, Kristin Bowhay and husband Kellen, Michael Hyde and wife Hannah; great grandchildren, Scott Warner and wife Kennedy, Tyler Warner and wife Zoe, Grady Miles, Sterling Miles, Rowan Bowhay, Dax Garrison, Tucker Bowhay, Whitley Hyde, Hagan Hyde, Anderson Bowhay, Bradlee Ivey, Nolan Ivey and Thomas Hyde; and great great grandson, Bleu Warner.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Liz Ivey; parents, Theodore and Dorothy Opal Ivey; two brothers and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be Clint Ivey, Michael Hyde, Grady Garrison, Kris Warner, Britt Miles, and Grady Miles.
