Doyle Wayne Clemmer

Doyle Wayne Clemmer, age 76, of Sweetwater, Texas passed away at his residence on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 9, 2026 from 7:00-8:00 P.M. 

Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sweetwater Cemetery with Dr. Mike Seay officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Marine Honor Guard at the graveside service.  Burial will follow.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Doyle was born on December 28, 1949, in Cisco, Texas to Thomas Wesley and Mary Lois (Jones) Clemmer. He married Teresita on August 22, 1972, in Subics, Philippines. After graduation from Sweetwater High School in 1968, he joined the Marines where he served for four years. He then worked for USG as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 2011.

His claim to fame was his collection of "Dad jokes." He enjoyed playing golf, watching his grandkids play sports, and participating in outside activities including gardening and fishing.

His survivors include his wife Teresita; children Richard Apelido Clemmer of Coahoma and Terry Clemmer and wife Leticia of Coahoma; grandchildren Lexxus, Keely, Jadden, Jheana, Lindzi, and Mia; great-grandchildren Kennedy, Lennon, Preslee, Kolsen, Zhari, Zaya, and Zylie; sisters Darlene Crays of Colleyville and Nila Cook and husband Mack of Hamlin; numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved dogs Remi, Smoky, and Sam.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Thomas Wesley Clemmer and Mary Lois Clemmer and one brother Kenneth Clemmer.

Honorary Pallbearers are James Cook, Mack Cook, Eddie Levens, Wesley McDonnell, Ronnie Clemmer, Gary McDonnell, and Juan Segovia.
