Elsie Belinda Mc Cartney

Elsie Belinda McCartney, age 77, Longtime resident of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Homeplace Manor in Hamlin, Texas.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Carter Edmundson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Elsie Belinda was born on March 28, l949 in Clovis, California, to Walter and Elsie (McMillen) Billberry. She was a Christian. She worked as a nurse's aide for numerous hospitals and nursing homes. She had been a resident of Sweetwater for fifty years and later moved to Hamlin, TX and lived there for seven years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Gala Martin and husband Jay of Hamlin, Texas; son, David Bailey and wife Barbara of Snyder, Texas, son-in-law, Adam Reeves of Sweetwater, Texas, and son, Jimmy Don Bailey of Sweetwater, Texas; granddaughters, Kasey, Jayde and Courtney; grandson, Jake; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Reeves, and grandsons, Nicholas Walker and Brody Bailey.
