Jack Stanley Johnson, age 84, of Sweetwater,Texas, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Sterling Hills Rehab and Healthcare Center.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M..
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Palava Cemetery, with Dr. Michael Harbour and John Fanning officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Stanley was born on May 5, 1941, in Sweetwater, Texas, to Claude Freeman and Thelma Wren (Rudd) Johnson. He graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1959, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1964 from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. He married Mary Frances Davis on June 8, 1969, in Sutherland Springs, Texas. He was a proud Papa to his grandchildren.
Stanley taught welding, and was an exceptional welder. He was also a farmer, rancher, and real estate broker, operating his own business. He was a member of 4th and Elm Church of Christ, and a longtime resident of Sweetwater, Texas.
He is survived by two daughters: Holly of Sweetwater, Texas, and Alison of Huntsville, Texas; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Noah, Jonah, Dominic and Jolie; brothers-in-law and sisters-in- law: Jimmy & Judy Davis of Sweetwater, Texas, and Janice & Phil Brown of North Richland Hills, Texas; cousins: Trace Fomby, Ann Rudd Hayes, Debbie Rudd Grimm, and other cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude & Thelma Johnson, wife, Mary Frances Johnson, son-in-law, Joe Rivas, and his beloved dogs, Otis Lee and Maggie May.
