Jane Pieper

Jane Pieper, age 76, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. J.T. Thornton and Rev. Matt McGowen officiating. Burial will follow at Lone Wolf Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 4, 2026 from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM.

Jane was born on November 4, 1949 in Merkel, Texas. She married Robert Lee Pieper on July 9, 1977 in Sweetwater, Texas. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Texas Tech University and her Master's Degree from SMU in Dallas, Texas. Jane was a teacher for East Ridge Elementary School for over forty years before retiring. She received many accolades including Teacher of the Year for SISD and Region 14 Teacher of the Year. She touched many children's lives over the forty years that she taught. She attended Trinity Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and proud grandmother. She will be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Pieper of Sweetwater, Texas; daughter, Paige Wilks and husband Jeremy of Sweetwater, Texas; three grandchildren, Jax Watts, Vonnie Watts, and Peyton Wilks, sister-in-law, Sharon Pieper Jones of New Braunfels, Texas; nephew, Shane Jones and

wife Jennifer; great nieces, Pieper Jones and Kyndall Jones; and her beloved fur babies, Bella, Ruby and Red.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gus Rigsby; mother, Lois Coffman, and step-father, James Alfred Coffman.

Pallbearers will be Richard Bowman, Enrique Figueroa, Chris Hartman, Eloy Herrera, Don Martin, and Dr. Lufkin Moses.
