Jimmy Ray Thomas, age 79, of Big Spring, Texas, (Former resident of Sweetwater, Texas) passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring, Texas.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 19, 2014 at Roscoe Cemetery with Rev. Matt McGowen officating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Jimmy was born on July 9, 1934 in Big Spring, Texas to L.C. and Ruby (Bronson) Thomas. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Korean War Veteran and a Baptist. He worked for Forrester Chevrolet for many years as a body shop mechanic.
He is survived by two brothers, Donnie Thomas and wife Cecilia and Michael Thomas, all of Sweetwater, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, including Michael Thomas and Donella Thomas, and special friends, Welton and Betty Ellison, and Todd and Cindy, all of Sweetwater, Texas.
