Joan B. Kendrick, 84, of Roscoe, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on February 5, 2026.

A Celebration of Life for Joan will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 1pm-4pm at her home, 60l Cedar Street in Roscoe, Tx. Local arrangements by Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Joan B. Kendrick was born in Bradshaw, Texas on November 25, 1941. She was the daughter of August Henry Bredemeyer Jr. and Rosa Lavell Bredemeyer. She had six brothers and one sister. She grew up on a farm in Bradshaw and later relocated to Sweetwater. She got her GED and went to school as what was known as TSTI at the time for clerical work. She was employed by The Holiday Inn for many years as the night auditor working her way up to right under the General Manager. She had two sons, James (Jimmy) Raney Jr., and Jason Kendrick.

Joan was known as Nanie by most people in the community. She loved Elvis, spending time in her yard, and most of all taking care of everyone around her. She took care of her mother until her passing as well as all her grandchildren. She loved to draw, paint, crochet, sew, and cook for all to enjoy. She had the biggest heart and the best Thanksgiving dressing recipe. Everything she created was made with love!

She is survived by her two sons, James Raney Jr. of Roscoe, Tx and Jason Kendrick of Sweetwater, Tx, her brother, Robert Bredemeyer and wife Gayla of San Angelo, Tx, her seven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents August H. Bredemeyer Jr. and Rosa Lovell (Young) Bredemeyer, her five brothers, Teddy Joe, Elton Roy (Buddy), August, Michael and wife Betty Jean, and Jerry, and her sister Alma.
