Jose (Joe) G. Mendez, 67, of Sweetwater , Texas passed away on Saturday,

August 21, 2010 , at Hendrick Medical Center .

A Rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Monday, August 23, 2010 , at Cate-Spencer

& Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by Pauline Gauna and Connie

Palacios.

Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August

24, 2010, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev.

Michael Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Roscoe Cemetery

under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Jose (Joe) was born July 22, 1943 in Karnes City , Texas . He married Mary

Ann Sauceda on December 15, 1963 in Loraine , Texas . He was a member

of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and he was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife –Mary Ann Mendez of Sweetwater, son-

Joe Luis Mendez of Grand Prairie, Texas, two grandsons- Cole Mendez

and Caleb Mendez, three great grandchildren, two sisters Eulalia Mendez

of Mexico and Julia Montemayor of Sweetwater, four brothers Jesus

Mendez of Sweetwater, Vidal Mendez of Texas , Claudio Mendez of

Sweetwater, and Richardo Zamora of Altus , Oklahoma .

He was preceded in death by his parents Aurelio and Virginia Mendez,

and one sister Maria Leyba.
