Kathy L. Shifflett

Kathy L. Shifflett, age 72, of Irving, Texas, was taken from us on August 15, 2023.

A private graveside will be held 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. James Flores officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Kathy was born on November 4, 1950, in Sweetwater, Texas, to Jim and Ebbie Shifflett. While her parents fell ill, she took care of them. She was a devoted daughter, sister and aunt.

Kathy worked for Kimberly Clark, Lovefield Airport for over twenty years before retiring. She was a member of Assembly of God Church, where she attended faithfully when she was able. She was a respected member of the DAR and was proud of her family's heritage and the history of the Shifflett name.

Kathy enjoyed traveling, sometimes to visit family and sometimes just for leisure. She instilled a love of history within her niece Dana that has been passed down to her sons. She showed her so much of the country and told her about her other travels. Charleston was one of Dana's favorite trips with Kathy and she returned again with her younger sister because of her Aunt Kathy. Kathy also loved fast cars and had various models of Chevys throughout her life. Kathy had a big heart and loved her family and will be truly missed by them.

She is survived by her nieces, Cindy Shifflett-Wright of Pittsburg, Texas, and Dana Shifflett-Mick, and great nephews, Jorden and Hunter Mick of Toledo, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ebbie Shifflett, and her two brothers, Delton and Gaylon Shifflett.
