Kenny Ray Bonner

Kenny Ray Bonner, age 77, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 23, 2026 from 6:00 - 7:00 P.M.

Per his wishes, his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Michael Harbour officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Kenny Ray Bonner was born on September 19, 1948 in Sweetwater, Texas to Kenneth Lee Bonner and Louise (Yoakum) Bonner. He married Norma Thorp on April 6, 1974 in Denton, Texas. He was a 1966 graduate of Newman High School. He owned and operated with his father, Ken's Grocery. He was a longtime member of 4th and Elm Church of Christ. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Bonner; daughter, Lindsay Reyes and husband Richard; son, Jason Bonner and girlfriend Misty Guelker, all of Sweetwater, Texas; grandchildren, Jaxon Ashford, Sloan Reyes, Sydni Reyes and Journey Bonner; cousins, Cindy McMillan and husband Jimmy of Snyder, Texas, Jack Howard and wife Carla of Sweetwater, Texas, and Brent Howard of Sweetwater, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Lee Bonner and Louise (Lucy) Bonner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Bruce, Bill Mays, Jack Howard, Brent Howard, Jimmy McMillan, and Richard Reyes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children's Hospital, Cornerstone Christian School, Sweetwater County City Library, and ASPCA.
