Lewis G. Kamer

Lewis G. Kamer, age 77, of Abilene, Texas, (Former Longtime Resident of Sweetwater, Texas), passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at his residence.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at

Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery with the United States Army Honor Guard.

Lewis Glenn Kamer was born on November 29, 1948 in Sweetwater, Texas to Robert Shelton Kamer and Thelma Viola (Sears) Kamer. He married Barbara Sanders on June 8, 1985 in Abilene, Texas. He worked for Walls Industries for many years. He was a U.S. Army Viet Nam Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Kamer of Abilene, Texas; sons, Glenn Kamer and wife Courtney of Amarillo, Texas, and Chris Kamer & wife Molly of Abilene, Texas; daughter, Christy Ballenger and husband Kenny of Sweetwater, Texas; grandchildren, Amber Kersh and husband Caleb, Robert Kamer & Jessica, Austin Kamer and wife Maddie, Lexie McGriff and husband Mike, Chase Kamer, Dakota Kamer, Roni Kamer, Arlo Kamer, Drake Kamer, Gavin Kamer, Evelyn Kamer, Crystal Ballenger, Kenneth Ballenger and wife Deborah, and Deidra Gibson and husband Dusty; numerous great grandchildren; two brothers, Sam Kamer and wife Carlene, and Roland Kamer and wife Ann; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Jim, Bobby, and Eddie and one sister, Bernice.

Pallbearers will be Robert Kamer, Austin Kamer, Kenneth Ballenger, Chase Kamer, Drake Kamer, and Gavin Kamer.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Caleb Kersh, and Dusty Gibson.
