Maria T. Lopez

Maria T. Lopez, age 79, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Hendrick Medical Center North surrounded by her loving family.

Per her wishes, her body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Javier Almontez officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Maria was born August 20, 1946 in Crystal City, Texas to Gregorio Trevino and Rosita (Moncada) Trevino. She married Encarnacion R. Lopez on February 2, 1964, in Crystal City, Texas. She was a homemaker and has been a resident of Sweetwater, Texas since 1977. She was a member of the Spanish Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Encarnacion R. Lopez of Sweetwater, TX; son, Encarnacion Lopez, Jr. and wife Emma of New Braunfels, Texas; daughters, Sylvia Galindo of Sweetwater, Texas, Mary Ann DeAnda and husband Joel of Carrizo Springs, Texas, and Noemi Lopez of Sweetwater, Texas; grandsons, Adrian Galindo and wife Jessica of Sweetwater, Texas, Isaac (Aki) Galindo and wife Tiffany of Sweetwater, Texas, Joshua DeAnda and wife Priscilla of San Antonio, Texas, Joel DeAnda, Jr. and wife Annette of Carrizo Springs, Texas, and Timothy Soto of Sweetwater, Texas; Granddaughters, Alexia DeJesus and husband Jared of New Braunfels, TX, and Mia Lopez of New Braunfels, TX; great grandchildren, Isaac Galindo, Elly Galindo, Aurora Galindo, and Iris Galindo, all of Sweetwater, Texas, Josiah DeAnda of San Antonio, TX, and one on the way, Luca Xavier DeJesus. She is also survived by four sisters, Lupe Belmarez, Elva Flores, Rosie Estrada and Annie Trevino.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio and Rosita Trevino, daughter, Dina Lopez, sisters, Polita Trevino, and Betty Garcia, and brothers, Gregorio Trevino, Jr. and Johnny Trevino.
