Marilyn J. Davis, age 96, (Longtime resident of Sweetwater, Texas), passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in Granbury, Texas.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 5:30 - 7:00 P.M..

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt McGowen officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Marilyn was born on February 14, 1930 in Stephenville, Texas to John Brooks and Mamie E. (Lay) Golightly. She married the love of her life, Frank A. Davis on March 28, 1947 in Stephenville, Texas. She worked as a business manager for Jim Pace. She was a longtime faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church where she served on the Trinity Church Bereavement Committee, and Trinity Choir. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her son, Stephen (Steve) Allen Davis and wife Kathy Davis of Granbury, Texas; daughter-in-law, Cindy Davis of Sweetwater, Texas; grandchildren, Shawn Davis and wife Danelle of Sweetwater, Texas, Kassi Davis and Stephen Davis and wife Stephanie Davis, of Granbury, Texas; great grandchildren, Seth Davis, Daniel Davis and Ruth Davis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Davis; son, John F. Davis; grandson, Brooks S. Davis; and parents, Brooks and Mamie Golightly
