Rev. Wayne Kirk

Rev. Wayne Kirk, Age 77, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at First Assembly of God, 312 E. Avenue B, Sweetwater, Texas with Rev. Jackie Passmore and Rev. Rick Earp officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Gerald Wayne Kirk was born on September 6, 1948 in Greenville, Texas to G W and Frances Evelyn (Moore) Kirk. He married Patricia Ann Belknap on March 23, 1967 in Dallas, Texas. Wayne was an Evangelist Minister for over twenty three years, before moving to Sweetwater where he was the Minister for First Assembly of God Church. He was also a board member of the Sweetwater Rifle and Pistol Club. Wayne was also a computer technician for many businesses in Sweetwater and he ran Mr. W Firework stand for eleven years. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Kirk of Sweetwater, Texas; son, David Kirk and wife Denise of Aubrey, Texas; daughter, Cheryl Passmore and husband Jackie of Sweetwater, Texas; grandchildren, Jami Allen and husband Justin, James David Kirk, Andrew Kirk, Shannon Kirk, Elizabeth Napier, and Mariah Baker and husband Justin; great grandchildren, Jayden, Caden, Kolbie, Ainsley, Leylan, Aspen, Ava, Lei' Lanea, La' Darien, and Lucas; sister, Paula Davis of Greenville, Texas and brother, Philip Kirk of Dallas, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, G W and Frances Kirk.

Pallbearers will be James David Kirk, Andrew Kirk, Justin Allen, Justin Baker, Jayden Allen and Caden Allen.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Victory and Eddie Walton.
