Sierra Michelle Zapata

Sierra Michelle Zapata, age 23, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

Her body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tyler Looney officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Sierra was born on May 22, 2002 in Sweetwater, Texas, to Jessie and Susie (Dillon) Zapata. She graduated from Angelo State University earning her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She worked as a case worker for MHMR in San Angelo, Texas, before moving to Round Rock. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Sierra was a strong-willed, gentle soul who loved deeply. She loved her animal-baby, her cat Razzamatazz. Sierra was always a fiercely supportive friend, strikingly intelligent, and had a laugh more refreshing than a sip of cold water in a desert. She loved music, psychology, and media. We were blessed to have her with us for 23 years. Although she may be gone physically, she will continue to teach us how to love in spirit, forever.

She is survived by her parents, Jessie and Susie Zapata of Sweetwater, Texas; brother, Zachary Zapata of Marshall, Texas; sisters, Mersedes Zapata and Savana Zapata; nephew, Soren Zapata, grandparents, Maggie Paredes and Dianna Dillon and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Roy G. Dillon.
