Veta Clift, age 88, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Nolan Nursing and Rehab.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Garden of Memories with Rev. Donald Hunt officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Veta was born January 19, 1923 in Jones County, Texas to Roy and Havalia King. She married James E. Clift in 1940 in Jones County. She was a homemaker and a member of Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by three sons, Dan Clift and wife Kim; Jerry Clift and wife Nancy, all of Sweetwater, TX; and James Clift and wife Isabel of Cedar Park, Texas; one daughter, Carolyn Smith of Gail, Tx; six grandchildren, James R. Clift, Ingrid Clift, Gerry Smith, James Smith, James E. Clift, and John Clift; and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Havalia King, husband, James E. Clift ; three sisters and two brothers.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 3, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
