William Dale Seago, age 71, of Sweetwater, Texas, (Longtime resident of Midland, Texas), passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Sterling Hills Rehab.

Per his wishes, his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

William Dale Seago was born on May 11, 1954, in Plainview, Texas to William Wayne Seago and Ophelia Marie (Hamby) Seago. He married Linda Lee Harris on July 23, 1983 in San Angelo, Texas. He received his Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement from Midland College, in Midland, Texas. He served as a police officer for two years in Eastland, Texas, then moved to Midland and served for twenty nine years. After retirement, he started working as a bailiff at Midland County Courthouse in Midland for thirteen years before retiring in May, 2025. He was a longtime member of One Hope Church of Christ in Midland, Texas and after moving to Sweetwater, he attended 4th & Elm Church of Christ. William was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was an avid golfer and loved to fish and read. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Lee Seago of Sweetwater, Texas; daughter, Traci Hernandez and husband Gilbert of Eastland, Texas; son, William Ryan Seago of Odessa, Texas; grandchildren, Celeste Neel and husband Chase, Isaiah Hernandez and wife Alexis, Malachi Hernandez, and Gabriella Hernandez; great grandchildren, Collin, Miles, Dawson William, Micah, Myla, and one on the way, Luca; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Wayne and Marie Seago.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis,Tennessee 38105, or Cornerstone Christian School, 400 Elm Street, Sweetwater, Texas 79556, or Midland Police Honor Guard, Midland, Texas.
