Chris Reed

Chris Reed, age 46, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at his residence.  

His body was cremated. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M..   Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home. 

Chris was born on March 28, 1976 in Sweetwater, Texas to Arnulfo Gutierrez and Joanna Reed.  He graduated from Sweetwater High School.  He  was a self-employed contractor for many years.  Chris loved to go camping.  He especially enjoyed watching sunrises and sunsets. He loved to write and kept a journal of his writings.  He was a wonderful cook and he also liked to grill.  Chris was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, and son.  His family was the joy of his life, especially he enjoyed being a grandpa to his granddaughter, Seraphina.   

He is survived by his wife, Amanda Ybarra of Sweetwater, Texas, mother, Joanna Stevens and husband Randal of Sweetwater, Texas, four children, Reanna Flores and husband Stetson of Sweetwater, Texas, Christopher Reed, Jr. of Sweetwater, Texas, Mia Reed of Sweetwater, Texas, and Arnulfo Ybarra of Sweetwater, Texas, granddaughter, Seraphina Flores, step-sister, Sarah Laskoski of Fayetteville, Arkansas, step-brothers, Kevin Stevens of San Antonio, Texas, and Travis Stevens of Tacoma, Washington,  grandmother, Jane Stevens, aunts,  Lisa Griffith, Patricia Luevano and husband Daniel, Patricia Reed, Esther Castillo and husband Domingo, Linda Medellin, Lupe Gutierrez, and Gloria McFadden and husband Allen, uncles, Rumaldo Gutierrez, Pete Gutierrez and wife Rosa, Dolores Gutierrez and wife Mary, and George Gutierrez and wife Lisa, and numerous cousins.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Arnulfo "Shooky" Gutierrez, uncle, Ricky Reed and numerous uncles and aunts.
