Danny Lee Cantrell

Danny Lee Cantrell went to be with his Savior during the early morning hours Friday, July 22, 2022, at the age of 66 in Iowa Park.

Danny or “Big Dan” was born August 30, 1955 in Rankin, Texas to Claudie “Bill” and Azalee Jordan Cantrell. He worked as an electric motor winder technician for Sweetwater Electrical Construction and Maintenance.  He met the love of his life, Linda Hobbs, and the couple was together 18 years before she preceded in him death in 2011.

He loved race cars, football and the rodeo. Danny was a lovable guy; honest, fun loving, caring and would give you the shirt off his back. He went out of his way many times to help others. He was loved and respected by the community and his peers. He was very knowledgeable in his profession, and was often called upon to troubleshoot and solve day to day issues. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Linda; and a sister, Wanda Bagwell.

He is survived by his children, Jennifer Gibson and husband Gary of Sweetwater, Jessica Bajo and husband Chad, Misty Duggins and husband Johnny, Danielle Thomas, and Daniel Cantrell and wife Raynee, all of Iowa Park; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Patsy Walker of Midland; and one brother, Claudie Cantrell and wife Danna of Midland.

Services have been entrusted to Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home of Baird and will be hosted at Cate-Spencer and Trent Funeral Home, 403 Locust, in Sweetwater.  Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, July 25, 2022.  Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 26, 2022, in the Cate-Spencer and Trent Chapel, with Pastor Frankie Santiago officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery. 

Memorials in Danny’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Danny was an all-around great guy, and was loved by all who knew him.  He will be greatly missed.
