Ellick F. McCann

Ellick F. McCann, age 63, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Baylor Scott & White in Dallas, Texas.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Garden of Memories with Dr. Chris Stephens officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Ellick was born on July 14, 1954 in Sweetwater, Texas to Robert Ellick and Dolores Ann (Barker) McCann. He was a Baptist. He attended school in Sweetwater until 1969. He graduated from H.G. Spruce High in Dallas, Texas. Ellick retired from the City of Dallas, Plan Review. Ellick and his brother James R. McCann founded https://notinmyworld.org, a Child Abuse & Good Parenting resource in the war against Child Maltreatment.

He is survived by his step-father, K. G. Kennedy of Dallas, Texas, brother, James R. McCann of Dallas, Texas, niece, Gina Anderson of Rowlette, Texas, five nephews, Nathan Smith, Robert McCann and Kenneth McCann, both of Sweetwater, Texas , Matthew McCann of Maryneal, Texas, and Joshua McCann of Dallas, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.E. McCann and Dolores McCann Kennedy.
