Emilia Trevino, age 50, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at M.D. Anderson in Houston, Texas.
A prayer service will be held 6:30 P.M., Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon David Mendez officiating, followed by a rosary at 7:00 P.M., recited by Deacon David Mendez.
Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Parish with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Emilia was born on April 5, 1971 in Mexico to Eusebio Medellin, Sr. and Belen (Sosa) Medellin. She married Richard Trevino on March 31, 2001 in Sweetwater, Texas. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish. She worked as assistant director for Brookshires Grocery Co. in Sweetwater, Texas. She was a 1991 graduate of Roscoe High School and was valedictorian of her class. She also received her associate's degree from WTC in Snyder, Texas.
Emilia was the most loving, caring, and strong mother and wife. No matter the situation, family was always first in her mind. No matter how she felt, she was always ready to smile, talk, and make everyone's day better.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Trevino, Sr. of Sweetwater, Texas, four sons, Richard Trevino, Jr. and Ashley Gossett, Matthew Trevino and Gabrielle Rendon, Jacob Trevino, and Lucas Trevino, all of Sweetwater, Texas, five grandchildren, Natiley Gossett, Richard Trevino, III, Brandon Trevino, Roman Rendon, and Jayven Trevino, parents, Eusebio Medellin, Sr. and Belen Medellin, sisters, San Juana Nunez, and Maria Neri and husband Art, brothers, Amado Medellin and wife Peggy, Eusebio Medellin, Jr. and wife Juanita, and Raymond Medellin and wife Joni, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends, Tommy and Mary Wolford of Eastland, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, brother-in-law, Julian Nunez and sister-in-law, Krysti Medellin.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Trevino, Jacob Trevino, Richard Trevino, Jr., Daniel Medellin, Jonathan Neri, and Andres Neri.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lucas Trevino and Roman Rendon.
