Gregorio Muñoz, Jr.

Gregorio Muñoz, Jr., age 78, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at his residence.  

A prayer vigil will be held 6:30 P.M,, Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a rosary at 7:00 P.M., recited by Deacon David Mendez.  

Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 5, 2021 at Holy Spirit Catholic Parish with Father Nilo Nalugon officiating.  Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.  

Gregorio was born on November 17, 1942 in Roscoe, Texas to Gregorio, Sr., and Ramona (Torres) Muñoz.  He married Emma Alcala on August 20, l966 in Sweetwater, Texas.  He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  He worked for Carmichael Ford for many years and Walmart.  His family was the joy of his life.  He enjoyed  classic  cars and listening to his  radio.  

He is survived by his daughters, Belinda Adames and husband Ronnie of Orange Park, Florida, and Anita Cuellar and husband John of Irving, Texas and son, Ernest Muñoz and wife Shayla of Merkel, Texas, grandchildren,  Janielle Marquez, Aaron Adames, Jeremy Adames, Anissa Cuellar, Julia Cuellar, and Brandon Adames,  great grandchildren, Caleb Jackson, Aaron Adames, II, Isaiah Greer, Anthony Adames, Zaiden Adames, Luna Marquez,  Leo Adames, Amir Marquez and Baby Boy (Asher Gregory Adames) on the way.                                           

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Muñoz, parents, Gregorio & Ramona Muñoz,  son, Raymond Muñoz and sister, Avelia Muñoz.  

Pallbearers will be Aaron Adames, Jeremy Adames, Brandon Adames, Caleb Jackson, Richard Muñoz and Jerry Muñoz.  

Honorary pallbearers will be John Cuellar, Manuel Muñoz, Jr. Jesse Muñoz, Jr., Robert Muñoz and Robert Alcala.   

The family requests that everyone practice social distancing and wear your face masks.
