Herbert Hoover

Herbert Hoover, age 81, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Goodlife Senior Living in Snyder, Texas.  

Per his wishes, his body was cremated.  A Graveside Service  will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 11, 2021 at Palava Cemetery with Werth Mayes officiating.  Burial will follow.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.  

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. 

Herbert was born on November 25, 1939 in Palava, Texas.  He married Barbara Burton on July 25, 1958 in Sweetwater, Texas.  He was an oilfield contractor for many years working for Texaco, and later as an independent operating as HLH Oilfield Company.  He was a member of the Downtown Bible Class.  

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hoover of Sweetwater, Texas, daughter, Teresa Cave and husband Kent of Rotan, Texas, sons, Thomas Ray Hoover and wife Terri of Royse City, Texas and Neal Hoover and wife Kere Of Sweetwater, Texas, grandchildren, Gage Hoover, Eli Hoover and wife Sarah, Kellen Walker and husband Matt, Lindsey Holt and husband Tanner, Brandon Cave, Kaleb Hoover and Ky Hoover, great grandchildren, Calvin Hoover, Easton Walker and Cassie Walker, and two brothers, George Hoover and Daniel Hoover. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan Hoover and Claudia Hoover Massengill, aunts, Jewell and Floye Hoover, grandsons, Jake Thompson and Randall & Aaron Cave. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Bubba Duncan, Kelly Estes, Jimmy Teston, Robert Luna, Mark Martin, Trent Elliot and the Downtown Bible Class.
