Ida (Shipp) Daniel

Ida Daniel, age 84, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021, at her residence.  

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Broadway Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Stovall officiating, assisted by Pastor Joseph Johnson and Pastor Lonnie Lehrman.  Burial will follow at Roby Cemetery.   Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.  

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.  

Ida was born on July 13, 1936 in Cross Plains, Texas to Riley and Mabel (Marshall) Shipp.  She married Bugger  Daniel on December 24, 1953 in Rotan, Texas.  She worked as an admissions clerk for Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital for many years before retiring.  She was a longtime member of Broadway Baptist Church.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  

She is survived by daughter, Jennie Daniel of Sweetwater, Texas, two sons, Marlin Daniel and wife Pam of Abilene, Texas, and David Daniel of Sweetwater, Texas, six grandchildren, Britnee  Nigro and husband Philip, Eric Holley, Amy Holley, Andrew Holley and wife Catrina, Callie Davis and Kiersten Hadley and husband Jordon, six great grandchildren, Kieran Nigro, Kacen Nigro, Raelynn Hadley, Remi Hadley, Mahayla Holley, and Ofelia Holley.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Mabel Shipp, husband, Bugger Daniel, son, James Calvin Daniel, two brothers, Benjamin H. Shipp and Jackie Shipp, and two sisters, Hazel L. Hayes and Geraldine Shipp.  

Pallbearers will be Eric Holley, Andrew Holley, Philip Nigro, Derrick Gilbert, Kevin Young, and John Hayes. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Romine, Darrell Hardin, and Dale Adams.
