J.J. (Jimmie) Scott

J. J. (Jimmie) Scott, age 79, of Kerrville, Texas (Longtime resident of Sweetwater, Texas) passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 in Kerrville, Texas.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 30, 2020 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Randell Smith officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

J.J. was born on July 19, 1941 in Sweetwater, Texas to Jesse and Annie (Jobb) Scott. He married Dora Jean Thompson on August l, 1974 in Lubbock, Texas. He was farmer and rancher all his life. He loved farming and loved the land. He could fix anything. He was the Nolan County Young Conservation Farmer of the Year in 1984. J.J. loved history and knew a lot about it. He loved to go hunting and had a large gun collection. He also loved to watch the news, the history channel and old westerns. He never met a stranger. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Dora Jean Scott of Sweetwater, Texas, daughter, Michelle Scott of Kerrville, Texas, and son, Mickey Scott and wife Nancy of Sweetwater, Texas, two grandchildren, Shelby and Chase Scott, and two fur babies, Gunner and Harley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Annie Scott.
