James Dwight Hathaway, age 72, of Quitman, Texas, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, Texas.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Palava Cemetery, Palava, Texas in Fisher County, Texas, with Chase Pope officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 30, 2019, at Wood County Cowboy Church, 3435 FM 2088, Quitman, Texas, with Chase Pope officiating.
Dwight was born on December 1, 1946 in Pampa, Texas to James Morgan and Lavine Hathaway. He married Lana Dee McWilliams on August 15, 1975 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Canyon, Texas. He was a member of Wood County Cowboy Church. He owned and operated Hathaway Drywall, working for Amicus Corporation as a sheetrock building contractor.
He is survived by his wife, Lana Dee McWilliams Hathaway of Quitman, Texas; two sons, Grady Hathaway and wife Charity of Quitman, Texas and Roddy Hathaway of Eugene, Oregon; three grandchildren; Hunter, Luchesse, and Fisher; brother-in-law, Lance McWilliams and wife Terry of Roby, Texas; brother-in-law, Mike McWilliams and wife Jolene of Odessa, Texas and sister-in-law, Teresa Meysing and husband Mike of Hudson, Colorado; special friends, Brent, Wendy, and Laramie Chadwick, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Morgan and Lavine Hathaway.
