Joe Raymond Limones, Sr., age 70, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at his residence.

A prayer vigil  will be held 6:30 P.M., Friday, January 1, 2021 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon David Mendez officiating, followed by a rosary at 7:00 P.M., recited by Victor Rubio, Jr.

Holy Funeral  Mass will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Holy Spirit Catholic Parish with Father Nilo Nalugon officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Joe was born on June 5, 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Gregorio and Lucia (Rodriguez) Limones. He married Jeannie Ortega on Feb. 25, 2005 in Sweetwater, Texas. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish. He worked as a truck driver for many years before retiring due to his health.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Limones of Sweetwater, Texas, son, Joe Raymond Limones, Jr. and wife Imelda of Sweetwater, Texas, daughter, Lucy Garcia and husband Ricky of Snyder, Texas, daughter, Brenda Meares of Roscoe, Texas, daughter, Rosemary Limones of Colorado City, Texas, daughter, Carmen Gamez of Corpus Christi, Texas, son, Rene Limones of Sweetwater, Texas and son Rey Limones and wife Tammy of Sweetwater, Texas, two stepdaughters, Perri Ann Flores of Sweetwater, Texas, and Griselda Sanchez of Sweetwater, Texas, numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren, sisters, Mary Hernandez of Sweetwater, Texas, and Salome Vargas and husband Fidel of El Campo, Texas, and brothers, Juan Limones and wife Angie of El Campo, Texas, and Andy Limones of Pasadena, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gregorio and Lucia Limones, brothers, Jessie Limones, and Gregorio Limones, Jr. and sister, Manuela Torres.

Pallbearers will be George Flores, Ricky Garcia, Jr., Joe Limones, III, Wayne Meares, Jr., Steven Joe Rey Limones, and Mark Limones.

Honorary pallbearer will be Brendon Lee Meares.
