Maria (Mari) Inez (DeLaCruz) Rubio

Maria (Mari) Inez Rubio, age 48, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Hendrick Medical Center North in Abilene, Texas.  

Her wishes were to be cremated.  A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon David Mendez officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.  

Maria was born on June 9,1973 in Sinton, Texas to Benito, Sr.  and Bernanda (Santos) DeLaCruz.  She was a Catholic.  She was a beloved daughter, sister and aunt.  

She is survived by her mother, Bernanda (Bennie) Posten of Sweetwater, Texas, sisters, Teresa (Terrie)  DeLaCruz of Sweetwater, Texas, and Christina (Christy)  DeLaCruz of Gainesville, Texas, brother, Benito DeLaCruz, Jr. of Huntsville, Texas, sister-in-law, Michelle DeLaCruz of Sweetwater, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her father, Benito DeLaCruz, Sr., and step-father, Jimmy Posten.
