Pascual G. (PG) Martinez, Jr.

Pascual G. (PG) Martinez, Jr., age 89, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at his residence.  

Per his wishes, his body will be cremated .  A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Juan Daniel Hernandez and Eric Almonte officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.  

Pascual was born on December 12, 1931 in Iatan, Texas to Pascual Martinez, Sr., and Felipa (Gomez) Martinez.  He married Maria Torrez on July 16, 1951 in Sweetwater, Texas.  He was a member of Jehovah's Witness Sweetwater Congregation.   He worked for United States Gypsum for many years before retiring.  

He is survived by his wife, Maria Martinez of Sweetwater, Texas, sons, Pat Martinez, and Kris Warner, daughters, Lilly Buff and husband Lenny, Sabrina Henington and husband Stephen, Liza Tilley and husband James, and Bianca Carrell and husband Don, eleven grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, sisters, Esther Cordova, Eloisa Martinez and husband Ben, Eva Ornelas and husband Joe, and Rachel Ornelas, and numerous nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Martinez, granddaughter, Jamie Warner, granddaughter, Heather Warner, grandson, Zachary Ballenger, great granddaughter, Ellie Carrell, parents, Pascual Martinez, Sr. and Felipa Martinez, sister, Michela Alcala, Margaret Lopez, Rosalva Orona, and brothers, Manuel Martinez, Elias Martinez, and Daniel Martinez.  

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Leila Rubio, nurses, Shannon Powell and Allison Hamm and occupational therapist, Charlene Baxter.  A very special and grateful thank you to his grandson, Dylan Carrell and son-in-law, Don Carrell.
