Patty's Sister told her friends: The Sunrise was gorgeous this morning, a most wonderful time for my Patty to finally be with her Lord. No more pain and tears. Praise God!
Patricia (Patty) Ann Brooks, age 76, of Sweetwater, Texas, went to be with her Lord Monday, May 15, 2023 at Sweetwater Healthcare Center, under Alpha Omega Hospice Care.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home. Patty preferred Cremation, and her ashes will be interred to Roscoe Cemetery. A memorial graveside will be held l:00 P.M., Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Roscoe Cemetery with Alan Carson officiating.
Patty was born July 2, 1946 in Queens, New York to Anthony Joseph and Jane Constance (Manell) Kendra. Her parents, and beloved brother-in-law, Ron Snyder preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Jane Snyder of Sweetwater, niece and nephews, Michael James Brown, Nancy Lynn Goggins, and Scott Ernest Brown, along with many beloved cousins and great nieces and nephews. While Patty had her share of adversities early in life, her love of the Lord brought her to use her many talents: Patty was a superb water skier, and performed for Billican West Benders Shows on Lake George, New York for a season. Patty enjoyed ice skating, ice fishing, horseback riding, and Saturday Movies at the local theater with Mary Jane. Patty had a beautiful voice, singing and sharing her faith in Jesus Christ when she could - especially singing for a Christian organization, New Life for Girls. She loved to Jitterbug and Square Dance. Patty also was an A-l pie maker back in the day "Make em and give em". (Apple was a favorite.) Patty loved animals - especially spoiling her cats April and Miss Kitty. No doubt, Patty and the Lord will enjoy the quick wit....like when on earth, kept her family in laughter with her jokes and one-liners -- a Queen of Knock Knock jokes.. She'll be greatly missed!
Many thanks to Sweetwater Healthcare Center, 1600 Josephine St., who kindly cared for Patty in her later years...also, where many years ago, Patty had worked as a Certified Nurses Aide.
