Pauline Dorothy (Jackson) Gillette

Pauline Dorothy Gillette, age 94, of  Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Merkel Nursing Center.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 21, 2022 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Norton officiating.  Burial will follow.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

 
Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. to service time on Monday, February 21, 2022. 

 
Pauline was born on January 6, 1928 in Sweetwater, Texas to Elvie (Tart) and Floyd Jackson.  She lived most of her life in Sweetwater, Texas. She worked for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator and supervisor for many years before retiring.  She was a Baptist.  She was a member of Southwestern Bell Pioneers. 

 
She is survived by sons, George Earl Hughes and wife Linda of Sweetwater, Texas, Benjamin Thompson and wife Debra of Potosi, Texas, and Richard Gillette and wife Sandi of Midland, Texas, five grandchildren, George Hughes, Cadi Gillette, Cari Gillette, Jason Thompson and Brandi Thompson, numerous great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.  
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Elvie Jackson, husband, Thomas Gillette, two sisters, Bobbie Harris and Sylvia Russell, and one brother, Jack Jackson.  

Pallbearers will be Benny Thompson, Richard Gillette, Randy Hughes, Calen Hughes, Tommy Coe, Jason Thompson and Clancy Hughes.
