Pedro Patricio Mermella

Pedro Patricio Mermella, age 52, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Hendrick Hospice in Abilene, Texas.

Per his wishes, his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with President Pete Garcia officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home. 

Pedro was born on March 17, 1968 in Brownfield, Texas. He married Janie Guerrero on January 10, 2003 in Sweetwater, Texas. He was member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sweetwater, Texas. He graduated from Sweetwater High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran with an honorable discharge. Pedro loved his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids. He also loved to go fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Janie Mermella of Sweetwater, Texas, four daughters, Christina Munoz & husband Santiago, Monica Diaz, Sonya Flores, and Rosalinda Guerrero and husband Alfredo, fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, mother, Belen Acosta of Sweetwater, Texas, brothers, Benino Mermella and wife Erika, Juan Mermella and wife Barbara, and Joe Mermella and wife Nancy, sisters, Benina Gonzales, and Maria Gatica and husband Tony, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Armando Acosta, and grandson, Alfredo Pedro Diaz.
