Ranny G. Wheeler

Ranny G. Wheeler, age 68, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Hendrick Medical Center North in Abilene, Texas.  

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Timothy Yandell officiating.  Burial will follow at Roscoe Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.  

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.  

Ranny was born on July 2, 1952 in Sweetwater, Texas to Gene and Frances (Yandell) Wheeler.  He married Melba L. (Jones) Arpe on October 30,  1981 in Sweetwater, Texas.  He worked for Ludlum's Measurements for twenty six years.  Ranny was a talented musician,  who played in numerous bands,  most recently  with 419 Swing Band.   His greatest joy in life was music.  He always had a smile and was a kind and caring soul with a big heart and great sense of humor.  

He is survived by his step-daughter, Lisa Boehm & husband Jeff of Rockwall, Texas, granddaughter, Rebecca Boehm, sister, Carla Sable and husband Brad of Borger, Texas, nephew, Stephen Sable and wife Tami, two great nephews, Logan and Nathan Sable, and great niece, Stella Sable.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene & Frances Wheeler, and wife,  Melba Wheeler.  

Pallbearers will be Stephen Sable, Lance Shaw,  Dougie Wallace, Curtis Ross, Richard Lewis, and Marcos Aguilar.
