Raymond A. Balderas, age 70, of Abilene, Texas (Former resident of Sweetwater, Texas) passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Hendrick Hospice Care.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Cory Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 6:30 - 8:00 P.M..
Raymond was born on May 14, 1951 in Charlotte, Texas to Fidencio, Sr. & Maria (Arredondo) Balderas. He worked as a self-employed paint contractor for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his son, Gabriel Balderas and wife Cara of Mansfield, Texas, ex-wife, Delfina Balderas of Sweetwater, Texas, two brothers, Ysrael Balderas and Fidencio Balderas, Jr. and wife Olga, all of Sweetwater, Texas, and two sisters, Mary Yarbrough of Rockwall, Texas, and Linda Parkerson and husband Mike of Forney, Texas, sisters-in-laws, Sylvia Hernandez and Maria Balderas, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fidencio & Maria Balderas, four brothers, Robert Balderas, Reynaldo (Rey) Balderas, Jesse Balderas, and Joe Torres and two sisters Lionel (Nona) Balderas and Gloria Eppler.
Pallbearers will be Richard Trevino, Nathan Balderas, Adrian Medina, Cliff Montemayor, Guillermo Bravo, Jr., and Lee Balderas.
