Reyes Franco

Reyes Franco, age 91, of Sweetwater, Texas passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at his son's residence.  

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 29, 2021 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Walter Best officiating.  Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.   Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home. 

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 6:00 - 7:30 P.M.   

Reyes was born on January 6, 1930 in Austin, Texas to Merced and Maria (Huerta) Franco.  He married Elida Soto on January 3, 1953.  He was a self- employed contractor for many years before retiring.  He also owned and operated Franco Grocery with his wife.  He was a longtime member of Calvario Baptist Church where he served as a lay pastor and also for several churches in the area.   

He is survived by three daughters, Teresa Franco, Rebecca Franco, both of Sweetwater, Texas, and Sylvia Osterloh and husband Jim of West Richland, Washington, two sons, Rogelio Franco and wife Dianna of Terrell, Texas and Javier Franco of Sweetwater, Texas, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and sister, Eva Hildebrand and husband William of Trenton, Tennessee.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merced & Maria Franco, wife, Elida Franco, son, Ramiro Franco, and nine brothers and sisters.  

Pallbearers will be Robert Soto, Andy Soto, Angel Longoria, Manuel Arenivaz, Noe Franco and Elias DeLeon.    

Honorary pallbearer will be Ruben Gutierrez.
