Ronald Lee Atkins

Ronald Lee Atkins, age 68, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at his residence.  

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Carey and Rev. Marvin Green officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Ronald was born on July 29, 1952 in Loraine, Texas to Lum and Mae Dee (Williams) Atkins.  He owned and operated Ron's Detail Shop and his cafe  for many years.  He married Sandra Haden in Sweetwater, Texas on July lst forty four years ago.  He was a member of Mt. Rose Baptist Church.  

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Atkins of Sweetwater, Texas, sons, Ronald Atkins, Jr. of Sweetwater, Texas, LeAlex Jones of Houston, Texas, Marcus Garrett of Sweetwater, Texas, Christopher Atkins of Midland, Texas, Jonathan Atkins and wife Robin of Midland, Texas, daughters, Marquita Atkins of Plano, Texas, and Mahognie Atkins of Rowlett, Texas, seventeen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and six sisters, Ardell Delaney and husband Josh, Karla Taylor and husband T.C., Peggy Reed, Dona Atkins, Dana Riggins, and Gwendolyn Atkins.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lum and Mae Dee Atkins, two brothers, Rusty and Bobby Atkins, and his in laws, James and Leola Haden.   

Honorary Pallbearers  will be  Chris Thompson, James Haden, Jr.  Robert Durst, Tommy Lee Monroe, Charles Walker, and George Nickerson.
