Steven Ray Alexander

Steven Ray Alexander, age 77, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Sweetwater Healthcare.  

Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 28, 2023 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Chaplain Jim Hargrove officiating.  Burial will follow.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 6:00 - 7:30 P.M..    

Steven was born on January 13, 1946 in Abilene, Texas to C.C. and Oleta (Gaines) Alexander.  He married the love of his life, Glenda Rae Patrick on June 27, 1964.  He worked as a truck driver for many years for Ridley Packing Company, U.S. Gypsum Transport and Schwerman Trucking Company.  He was a lifetime resident of Sweetwater, Texas.

He is survived by three daughters, Melinda Melton and husband David of San Angelo, Texas, Mary Heryford and husband Steve of Goliad, Texas, and Diana McCranie & fiance Stephen Rodriguez of Burleson, Texas, eight grandchildren, Brian, Mary, Jacob, Jessica and husband Cameron, Samantha, Christopher, Michael, and Kaitlin, ten great grandchildren, Aiden, Andrew, Audrina, Gideon, Aven, Hudson, Hayden, Kamdyn, Braylea, and Gage, two brothers, David Alexander and wife Debra of Sweetwater, and Doug Alexander of Sweetwater, Texas, and sister, Sondra Utley and husband Benny of Lewisville, Texas.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.C.and Oleta Alexander, wife, Glenda Rae Alexander, and sister-in-law, Carolyn Alexander.
