Tinker Parsons

Tinker Parsons, age 72, of Blackwell, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at his residence.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 2, 2018 at Decker Cemetery with Dr. Stan Cosby officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Tinker was born on November 21, 1945 in Sweetwater, Texas to L. D. . and Doris (Rogers) Parsons. He married Linda Alderman on May 29, 1964 in Blackwell, Texas. He was a self-employed rancher. Tinker also worked for Santa Fe Railroad for many years. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Blackwell, Texas. He was also a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He also served on the Blackwell CISD school board for fifteen years. He had been a lifelong resident of Nolan County.

Tinker is survived by his wife, Linda Parsons of Blackwell, Texas, daughter, Carrie Parsons of Blackwell, Texas, son, Robert Parsons of Abilene, Texas, grandson, Luke Parsons, granddaughters, Jessa Kay Allen and Danielle Parsons, brothers, Reese Parsons and wife Tere of Blackwell, Texas, Robert Parsons and wife Sheila of Sweetwater, Texas, sister, Patricia Rainey of Austin, Texas, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Tinker was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. & Doris Parsons, son, Doyle Lee Parsons, and grandson, Jason Lee (Jaylee) Allen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Blackwell Volunteer Fire Department.
