Winnie B. (Phemister) Brock

Winnie B. Brock, age 80, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Hendrick Hospice Care in Abilene, Texas.  

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Tackett officiating.  Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.  

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5:00 - 6:30 P.M.. 

Winnie was born on June 3, 1942 in Sweetwater, Texas to Carlos and Ozell (Bishop) Phemister.  She married Garland Brock on June 20, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  She had been a resident of Abilene, Texas for the past six years coming from Springtown, Texas.  She was a member of Church of Christ at Remington Ridge.  Winnie was a loving, faithful wife, mother, and grandmother.  

She is survived by her husband, Garland Brock of Abilene, Texas, son, Brett Browning of Tucson, Arizona, daughters, Michelle Hughes and husband Dave of Springtown, Texas, and Steffanie Joseph of Canyon, Texas, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos & Ozell Phemister, daughter, Dr. B. Leigh Browning and sister, Mattie Lincoln.
